Sowbaranika Dhanabalakrishnan

A trailblazing celebrity costume designer turned edupreneur, Sowbarnika has transformed film frames into fashion statements and creative visions into thriving realities. With an illustrious career in cinema, couture, and bespoke design, she has dressed stories, characters, and dreamers with equal finesse.

Driven by the belief that fashion is not just taught but lived, she founded Sowbarnika School of Fashion & Costume (SSFC) to revolutionize fashion education in India. Under her leadership, SSFC has become the nation’s first AI-integrated, entrepreneurship-focused fashion school, preparing students not only to design garments but to build global fashion brands.

Kavya is a visionary leader with over a decade of expertise in education, leadership, and business strategy. From her beginnings as a preschool teacher to her roles as Vice Principal and Principal in leading schools.

She has shaped institutions and nurtured talent with discipline and innovation. Alongside her educational leadership, she excelled as a Business Analyst, honing skills in operations, analytics, and organizational growth.

At SSFC, Kavya brings together her dual strengths in education and business to build a world-class platform for future-ready fashion professionals. Her journey from teacher to strategist to entrepreneur makes her a role model for aspiring leaders.
